Hemorrhoids are veins on or around the anus in which the vein walls have weakened, allowing blood to pool, causing the walls of the vein to expand.  Bleeding hemorrhoids may occur if the weakened veins burst, resulting in the presence of blood during and after bowel movements.  It is important to note, however, that blood in your stool can be a sign of a serious medical condition and should be treated by a trained medical professional immediately.While the subject of hemorrhoids is embarrassing and often avoided, it is estimated that most Americans, both male and female, will experience hemorrhoids at least once in their lives.  While people over the age of 40 are most likely to develop hemorrhoids, people of all ages and from all walks of life are vulnerable.

Hemorrhoids Causes:Digestive problems such as constipation or chronic diarrhea are the most common hemorrhoids causes , but sitting or standing for long periods of time can also be a contributor.  Many women experience hemorrhoids during pregnancy and childbirth, and over-exercise, heredity, and other rectal conditions such as candida (excessive yeast in the bowels) are known to cause hemorrhoids as well.

Some people with varicose veins don't experience any discomfort from the condition. When painful signs and symptoms do occur, they may include:
An achy or heavy feeling in your legs, and burning, throbbing, muscle cramping and swelling in your lower legs. Prolonged sitting or standing tends to make your legs feel worse.
Itching around one or more of your veins.
Skin ulcers near your ankle, which represent a severe form of vascular disease and require immediate attention.
Varicose veins are dark purple or blue in color and may appear twisted and bulging — like cords. They commonly appear on the backs of the calves or on the inside of the leg. However, they can form anywhere on your legs, from your groin to your ankle.
