Fungal InfectionThese infections usually develop on nails continually exposed to warm, moist environments, such as sweaty shoes or shower floors. Nail fungus isn't the same as athlete's foot, which primarily affects the skin of the feet, but at times the two may coexist and can be caused by the same type of fungus. The nail plate can have a thickened, yellow, or cloudy appearance. The nails can become rough and crumbly, or can separate from the nail bed. There is usually no pain or other bodily symptoms, unless the disease is severe. (Wikipedia) Dermatophytids are fungus-free skin lesions that sometimes form as a result of a fungus infection in another part of the body. This could take the form of a rash or itch in an area of the body that is not infected with the fungus. Dermatophytids can be thought of as an allergic reaction to the fungus. Limitations: Sephorris not to be used on children under 10 years of age or people older than 70. If the skin surrounding the nail becomes red for more than 5 minutes, stop the treatment altogether. Continuing treatment despite such signs may result in skin lesions.
Before applying SEPHORRIS, the skin surrounding the nail surface should be protected by a thin layer of an oily ointment, such as TOVA. |
